<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the image quality by suppressing a deviation in dot position in a sub-scanning direction in an image forming apparatus which is provided with a write-in means to scan a body to be scanned moved in the sub-scanning direction in a main scanning direction and forms a color image by successively overlapping several images. <P>SOLUTION: When the cycle of the main scanning synchronizing signal of the write-in means is set as T, time (ty1-tx1) passing from time tx1 obtained by adding the time of T/2 to the detected time of an image forming start signal in the sub-scanning direction at the time of forming a reference image to time ty1 when the main scanning synchronizing signal is detected after the time tx1, is t1 and time (ty2-tx2) passing from time tx2 when the image forming start signal in the sub-scanning direction is detected at the time of forming an image other then the reference image to time ty2 when the main scanning synchronizing signal is detected, is t2, the start of image forming is delayed only by portion of one line by the write-in means in the case that (t1-t2) is positive at the time of forming the image other than the reference image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
