<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bright color filter for a semitransmissive liquid crystal display with only slight differences of color purity, brightness and color tone between a reflective display and a transmissive display. <P>SOLUTION: The color filter for the liquid crystal display is the color filter including a transmissive region and a reflective region in a pixel and constructed by disposing the pixels with a plurality of colors and is characterized by making the pixel with at least one color include a plurality of laminated coloring layers and further have the uppermost layer constructed with a photosensitive color resist and further having a transparent resin layer disposed between a substrate and the coloring layer in the reflective region.
