<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter substrate for a transflective liquid crystal display having a wide viewing angle and no difference of color purity in trans missive and reflective modes and a method for manufacturing it. <P>SOLUTION: The color filter substrate is constituted by forming a color filter on an upper part of a substrate including a buffer layer by forming the buffer layer including dispersed materials at a reflection part for the purpose of reducing color difference between the reflection part and a transmission part. In this case, the color filter is formed so that thickness of a color filter corresponding to the transmission part becomes approximately double of thickness of a color filter corresponding to the reflection part. Consequently, the color difference of light to be emitted from the reflection part and the transmission part can be reduced, the viewing angle can be widened and brightness can be enhanced by irregularly reflecting incident light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
