PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve stem seal in which a valve stem is sufficiently lubricated in operating state and the valve stem is satisfactorily sealed in stationary state. SOLUTION: This valve steam seal for an internal combustion engine comprises at least one seal lip surrounding the valve steam and formed of an elastic material, and a plurality of projected parts 7 equally spaced in the circumferential direction of the seal lip 5 and provided on the seal lip 5 opposite the valve stem.
