PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively and easily perform the maintenance of a heat developing device and also to inexpensively and easily recycle a heating drum applied to the heat developing device. SOLUTION: A deterioration detecting means 14 detecting the deterioration of the heating drum 11 by observing the surface state of the drum 11 is installed on the main body side of the heat developing device 10. When the deterioration of the drum 11 reaches a deterioration limit value, the drum 11 is recovered and replaced with a spare heating drum 11. Processing for recycling is performed to the recovered drum 11, which is recycled as the spare drum 11. The drum 11 is formed so that a 1st flange 113 and a 2nd flange 114 may be attachably/detachably attached to a drum main body 11, whereby disassembling and reassembling are easily performed in the case of performing the processing for recycling to the drum 11.
