<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an optical parametric oscillation having a cyclic frequency of 10 GHz which has conventionally been impossible due to spatial restrictions. <P>SOLUTION: To solve the above purpose, an optical parametric oscillator having such a resonator length that a quotient given by dividing a resonator length of an exciting laser by the difference between the lengths of the optical parametric oscillator and the exciting laser resonator becomes an integer has been devised, and the principle has been demonstrated. A optical parametric oscillator having a cyclic frequency of 10 GHz or higher can be realized by employing such a resonator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
