PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector 1 which is adaptive to size reduction, can press a ferrule, etc., with one elastic body 18 and obtain a stable connection (no variance in connection loss), and is usable for a long period. SOLUTION: Ferrules 69 and 79 and inserts 62 and 72 are constituted in one structure and the united inserts 12 and 42 are provided with elastic body reception parts 124 and 424, which are pressed by one elastic body 18, which is pressed by a stopper 20 functioning as holding members 66 and 76 and press members 68 and 78. To prevent external interference, the stopper is formed in a nearly cylindrical shape and provided with a projection on its outer circumference on a free-end side, a shell is provided with a groove part that the projection is put in, and then the projection of the stopper is put in the groove of the shell to press and hold the elastic body, thereby obtaining durability.
