PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device for comfortably inputting characters, digits and symbols to a small apparatus hard to input them to. SOLUTION: Characters, digits and symbols can be quickly selected and converted on a screen of a small apparatus by sliding a handle of a slide bar in the state of the characters, digits and symbols corresponding to respective positions of a movable region of the handle. The characters, digits and symbols are described at the side of the slide bar, and projections caught by the handle, or grooves in which the handle is caught, are formed in the optional positions of the slide bar. When the handle comes in contact with the projection or groove, the position of the handle is sensed by the sound and a sensation passed to the hand, thus assisting in quickly selecting the characters, digits and symbols.
