PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which prevents a rotary body from being damaged even if a separation claw is pressed beyond a specific degree, and an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The fixing device in which the separation claw 60 is in contact with a fixing roller 30 so as to be slidable over the roller 30 is provided with a guide pin 61 which, when the separation claw is pushed up, rotates the separation claw 50 around a support shaft 61 in the direction in which the separation claw 50 is separated from the fixing roller 30 against the action of a spring 54.
