PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a partition device whose body is prevented from toppling down. SOLUTION: The partition device is provided with a body 3 partitioning a room 40, bar members 18a, 18b, 19a, 19b guiding the body 3 in the direction 50 along a wall face, and a fixing device fixing the body 3 in the partition position. The bar members 18a, 18b, 19a, 19b have horizontally extending grooves 24. The groove 24 is used to be horizontal at the position of a furring strip and a chair rail. Protrusions 6a, 6b, 7a, 7b are fixed to the body 3, and formed at the confronting side face 4a, 4b in the position of the members 18a, 18b, 19a, 19b. The front end side of the protrusions 6a, 6b, 7a, 7b are inserted in the grooves 24 of the member so as to be movable in the groove. A sound insulation material 37 is installed between the body 3 and walls 47a, 47b, and the body 3 and the ceiling 43.
