PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an emulsion polymerized polymer that is capable of lowering concentration of the polymer existing in washing drainage discharged after emulsion polymerization is finished, while washing a reactor, and can reduce a load of drainage treatment and waste. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the emulsion polymerized polymer comprises drying a polymer after coagulation and dehydration of a polymer latex obtained by using the emulsion polymerization method in the reactor of an emulsion polymerization apparatus. The polymer latex is drawn from the reactor 10 of the apparatus and then the reactor 10 is washed. The washing drainage is recovered as the polymer latex until an amount of the washing drainage from a start of washing reaches an amount calculated by the equation: Q=kV<SP>(2/3)</SP>(wherein Q is the amount of the washing drainage (L) from the start of washing, V is volume of the reactor [m<SP>3</SP>], and k is a constant ranging 2.0-88.0).
