PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a substituted unsaturated compound. SOLUTION: The method for producing the substituted unsaturated compound represented by general formula (3) R<SP>1</SP>-(R<SP>2</SP>)<SB>n</SB>(3) [wherein, R<SP>1</SP>denotes an aryl group, a substituted vinyl group or the like; R<SP>2</SP>denotes an alkyl group, an aryl group or the like; and n denotes 1-3] comprises the following. A condensing reaction of an unsaturated organic compound represented by general formula (1) R<SP>1</SP>X<SP>1</SP><SB>n</SB>(1) [wherein, R<SP>1</SP>and n denote each the same meaning as in general formula (3); and X<SP>1</SP>denotes chlorine, bromine, iodine, trifluoromethanesulfonyl group or the like] with an organotitanium compound represented by general formula (2) R<SP>2</SP>-Ti(A)<SB>n</SB>' (2) [wherein, R<SP>2</SP>denotes the same meaning as in general formula (3); A denotes an organic group or a halogen atom; and n' denotes 3 or 4] is carried out in the presence of a transition metal catalyst.
