摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new transition-metal compound, to provide a catalyst for polymerizing an olefin given by using the compound and capable of effectively producing a polyolefin, and to provide a method for producing the polyolefin, capable of effectively producing the industrially useful polyolefin by using the catalyst. SOLUTION: This transition-metal compound has one or more iminoacyl groups and is expressed by the formula (1), wherein the compound has a 3-11 group transition-metal element. The olefin is polymerized in the presence of the catalyst for polymerizing the olefin, wherein the catalyst is composed of the compound expressed by the formula (1) and an activation promoter, or composed of the compound expressed by the formula (1), preferably a compound expressed by the formula (2), the activation promoter, and an organometallic compound.
