PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing efficiently a thermoplastic resin film of which the product film is free from a surface defect such as a scuff mark or a transfer and which is excellent in optical characteristics. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the thermoplastic resin film includes at least one process which is selected from a group of processes of stretching, conveying, heating, cooling and winding and wherein the film and rolls come into contact with each other. At least one roll coming into contact with the film is not driven positively, and the rotational resistance on the surface of this roll is in the range of 0.1-100 N, while the coefficient of the static friction between the roll and the film is in the range of 0.2-0.7.
