<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a new Aspergillus amino acid oxidase in a large amount by culturing a transformant wherein the enzyme has an action to oxidize D-amino acids, the amino acid sequence includes 349 amino acid residues and is a new compound, and the enzyme specifically acts on D-aspartic acid and D-glutamic acid, consequently these amino acids can be readily detected and their racemic resolution can be effectively achieved. <P>SOLUTION: A gene encoding a new D-amino acid oxidase daoC is cloned and the base sequence of the gene is determined (1.1 Kbp). The cloned new D-amino acid oxidase DAOC gene is transduced into a vector and a host (Escherichia coli) is transformed with the resultant expression plasmid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
