PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting edge tip replacement type ball end mill capable of preventing the occurrence of positional deviation in an insert even when performing highly efficient cutting machining by improving mounting strength of the insert mounted on an insert mounting seat. SOLUTION: This cutting edge tip replacement type ball end mill is constituted in such a way that a main insert mounting seat 12 having a linear side wall of a tool body and an auxiliary insert mounting seat 13 are provided in an end part of the tool body 11, and a linear inclined side face formed in a main insert 14 is abutted on the linear side wall of the main insert mounting seat and a linear inclined side face formed in an auxiliary insert 16 is abutted on a linear side wall of the auxiliary insert mounting seat to mount the main insert and the auxiliary insert detachably. When length by which the linear inclined side face of the main insert is restrained by the linear side wall of the main insert mounting seat is L and length by which the linear inclined side face of the auxiliary insert is restrained by the linear side wall of the auxiliary insert mounting seat is l, l≥L is satisfied.
