NITROGEN REMOVING METHOD BY MEMBRANE BIOREACTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing ammonia nitrogen in water using a single tank-type nitrification and denitrification membrane bioreactor effective for cleaning wastewater or the like such as organic polluted water, ammonia nitrogen polluted water or the like.

SOLUTION: This nitrogen removing method by the membrane bioreactor is characterized in that oxygen-containing gas is supplied to the inner surface side of a porous hollow fiber membrane, which has a biological membrane containing nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria immobilized on the outer surface thereof, and raw water is supplied to the outer surface side of the hollow fiber membrane to nitrify and denitrify ammonia components in raw water in the biological membrane on the outer surface of the porous hollow fiber membrane to remove the same.
