PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for manufacturing a porous body by which the molded porous body can be easily and surely released from a mold under a flawless condition with no defect without damaging each molding pin of a group of molding pins. SOLUTION: In a mold release process in which the porous body M in a cavity C is pushed out by a cavity face C3 of a core 4 by moving a movable mold 3 to a fixed mold 2 side, when a fluid pressure is worked to a pressure room 18 of a cylinder mechanism between the core 4 and a pin holder 9, the pin holder 9 is moved in the separating direction from the core 4 and each of the molding pins 10A of the group 10 of the molding pins is pulled back in the opposite direction to the pushing-out direction of the porous body M and mold release force of the porous body M is increased by that much. In addition, the cavity face C3 of the core 4 is prevented from being deformed by the fluid pressure working to the pressing room 18.
