PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely confirm the grinding profile of the tip section of a workpiece, confirm the profile of the whole of the workpiece without requiring a long time, prevent the part to be ground from being scratched, easily adjust a mirror and a reflector and eliminate the possibility of dropping the mirror and/or the reflector in profile grinding. SOLUTION: Using a tool 2 comprising the reflector 21 having a hole 22, into which the workpiece 1 is inserted, at its center, and a support means 3 for supporting the reflector 21, the reflector 21 is set concentrically with the workpiece to confirm the grinding profile of the tip section of the workpiece by the profile image of the tip section produced by the reflector 21.
