PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foot movement analyzing system with which a walking condition can be objectively measured, and a diagnosis of a sickness and an evaluation of a medicine applied to an animal experiment can be correctly made. SOLUTION: An analysis of actual motion picture data is illustrated in a process in Fig. 6. In step 1, an animal is forced to walk on a running wheel or on a transparent floor of a treadmill, and movements of the animal are photographed from below by using a digital video camera. In step 2, processed motion pictures are transformed into static picture data, which are stored in step 3. In the step 3, the data are extracted on the base of items (A)-(F) as parameters. In step 4, the obtained data are analyzed through an analysis program, and a ratio of stepping time off the land between right and left rear legs of the animal is determined. In step 5, a walking discrimination is performed whether or not the walking is in a normal condition, and a presumption for estimating a cause thereof is also performed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
