<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet for ink jet recording which is excellent particularly in the water resistance and strength of an ink receiving layer and in the density and water resistance of an image and suitable for the outdoor use, e.g. for a poster or the like, while having the fundamental characteristics of a usual sheet for ink jet recording. <P>SOLUTION: The sheet has the ink receiving layer provided on a base. The ink receiving layer contains silica, a calcium carbonate of an aragonite quality, silanol modified polyvinyl alcohol and a hydrated aluminum oxide, and the silica contains 50 wt.% or more of silica of which the capacities of pores are 0.9-1.5 ml/g and the average particle length 2-5 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
