<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recording medium of a plain paper type which enables attainment of printing of a high image quality being as good as one obtained by a coated paper type medium and which is suitable particularly for printing with dye ink. <P>SOLUTION: Original paper is coated or impregnated with a coating solution of which the bases are a water-soluble polymer, chainlike colloidal silica and a sizing agent. The coating solution contains the chainlike colloidal silica of 5-100 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. of the water-soluble polymer, while the coating amount of the solution is 0.5-5.0 g/m<SP>2</SP>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
