FUNCTION-MODIFIED CHOLESTEROL OXIDASE

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an oxidation activity for the degradation of cholesterol and a new function related with the synthesis of a useful substance and associated with the degradation of the cholesterol.

SOLUTION: A function-modified cholesterol oxidase in which serine as an amino acid at the position 379 (pretype) or position 337 (mature type) of a cholesterol oxidase as a cholesterol-decomposing enzyme originating from Streptomyces, is replaced with a hydrophobic amino acid has an oxidation activity against the cholesterol and a high oxidation activity against pregrenolone.
