PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact rotary tool in which the number of drive is not unlimited even in a screw tightening manner. SOLUTION: In the impact rotary tool comprising a drive motor 11, a cam mechanism A to convert the rotational force of the drive motor 11 into the rotational impact of a hammer 6 and an anvil 9, a number of drive counting unit comprising a microphone 22 to detect impact noise of the hammer 6 with the anvil 9 and a torque control circuit 15 to count the number of impact noise, a torque setting dial 13 to preliminarily set the drive number to be several predetermined values according to works, and a rotation control unit 30 to stop the drive motor 11 when the number of count by the number of drive counting unit is agreed with the set value by the torque setting dial 13, a screw mode is provided on the torque setting dial 13, in which the maximum predetermined number for protecting the tool about 10 times as large as the other predetermined number.
