PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heterogeneous liquid detection device without causing individual variation in separation accuracy and without requiring an operator himself. SOLUTION: A liquid is irradiated with light from one side of a window part 2 which is provided at an opposing position to a peripheral face of a transmission tube 13 by an illumination part 3 and is imaged from the other side thereof by an imaging part 4. The most enhanced color of the picked-up image is abstracted, and a binarization level on the color is set and is stored in a processing part 5 as a set data. When the heterogeneous liquid is detected, the set data is read out, and the image data of the liquid continuously imaged by the imaging part 4 is image processed. When a comparison part 6 detects that the image processed data becomes above or below a threshold value of the binarization level, such a signal that the heterogeneous liquid flows in is outputted.
