PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refreshed type throwaway paper diaper in which both the legs of a wearing person can be freely moved and moreover, a thigh sore and liquid leakage can be prevented, and furthermore which can also be employed as a pad. SOLUTION: The pants type or tape type throwaway paper diaper having a paper diaper body comprising a liquid penetrating top sheet covering the surface side, a liquid nonpenetrating backsheet covering the back side, an absorbing body lied between the sheets, and three-dimensional gathers placed on both sides of the absorbing body on the surface of the liquid penetrating top sheet wherein the paper diaper body is formed in such a way that the side of the part between the thighs is of narrower width than the central part of the absorbing body and the side of the part between the thighs of the three-dimensional gather crosses from one side part to the other side part.
