PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MRI apparatus which can suppress the reduction in image quality resulted from the attenuation of signal strength and nicely depict the bloodstream even when the high-speed bloodstream and the low-speed bloodstream are mingled together in the picture region. SOLUTION: An imaging region A is divided into a plurality of adjoining slabs S1 to S6. An RF pulse, with a flip angle profile P1 which has varied flip anglesαin individual slabs S1 to S6 in the thickness direction and different average flip angles in the every slabs S1 to S6, is transmitted so as to collect NMR signals, and based on which the bloodstream imaging is carried out. Since each slab is made thinner in thickness, the bloodstream is retained within the slabs only for a shorter period of time, which results in suppression of the reduction in picture quality. Furthermore, by making the flip angles of slabs different from each other depending on the change in bloodstream conditions, the overall capability of depicting the bloodstreams with different speeds can be improved.
