<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the granulated substance of barley young leaf powder having excellent palate feeling. <P>SOLUTION: The granulated substance of the barley young leaf powder is obtained by adding water or both of water and ethanol to barley young leaf powder, kneading the mixture, subjecting the kneaded mixture to extrusion- molding and drying the molded mixture. The granulated substance is edible as it is and excellent in palate feeling such as chewiness and palatability and activates the action of the brain by repeated chewing. The component of the barley young leaf adjusts physical condition and smoothes bowel movement. The granulated substance has excellent deodorant effect (breath odor eliminating effect) because the green-colored barley young leaf powder richly contains chlorophyll and also excellent anticavity effect through promoting salivation. Addition of chlorophyll to the barley young leaf powder before granulation enhances the breath odor eliminating effect. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
