PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that since the number of shots per flushing is standardized regardless of the use frequency of ink, flushing is performed excessively for some ink which is thereby wasted. SOLUTION: In the flushing method of an inkjet recorder where flushing is performed by ejecting ink from a plurality of ejection openings of the inkjet recorder, the number of shots of flushing is set for each kind of ink and flushing is performed collectively for inks set with the same number of shots.
