PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize the size of an inkjet printer by narrowing its width. SOLUTION: A movable platen 34 provided sideward of a platen 12 is switched according to rotation around the rotation axis 34a between a first rotation position with a wiper 36 provided upward, and a second rotation position with a movable rib 38 provided upward. The top end of the wiper 36 at the first rotation position is disposed at a position to be contacted with a nozzle 18 so as to be used for cleaning the nozzle 18. Moreover, the movable rib 38 at the second rotation position provided upward is disposed side by side with a rib 14 for supporting the paper 10 at the time a paper 10 passes on the movable rib 38. Since the space sideward of the platen 12 is used commonly by the wiper 36 at the first rotation position and the movable rib 38 at the second rotation position, the width of the inkjet printer 1 can be made narrower for the space used commonly.
