PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for firmly joining two articles without using any welding, and accordingly without generating much heat during the joining without any joining members such as a bolt and a rivet. SOLUTION: A through-hole 18 is formed in a portion of a component 16 to be joined corresponding to a predetermined part of a joining component 10, and a projecting part 12 longer than the through-hole which is formed of the same material as that of the joining component is a casting, and integrated with the joining component at a predetermined part of the joining component. Next, the projection part is inserted in the through-hole in the component to be joined, and the component to be joined is positioned at the predetermined part of the joining component and held. The projecting part projected from the through-hole in the positioned and held condition is pressed toward the through-hole, and plastically deformed to firmly join both components.
