PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that resistance is caused in feeding of seedlings to clips with an urged member to make operation to feed the seedlings to the clips difficult and operating efficiency in seedling transporting operation of an apparatus for transporting the seedlings cannot be improved because the member for nipping the seedlings in the clips of the conventional apparatus for transporting the seedlings is always urged to the side of nipping the seedlings. SOLUTION: The apparatus for transporting the seedlings is designed to transport seedling housing parts 26 for housing the seedlings in a prescribed transporting passage. In the apparatus, nipping operation tools 137 for forcedly changing over the clips 49 for nipping and fixing the seedlings housed in the seedling housing parts 26 to a state in which the seedlings are nipped and nipping releasing operation tools 136 for forcedly changing over the clips 49 to a state in which the nipping is released are mutually separated and arranged in positions along the transporting passage of the seedling housing parts 26. The nipping releasing operation tools 136 are installed so as to enable changeover to an inoperative state so that the clips 49 are not changed over to the state in which the nipping is released.
