<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute an airtight chuck for making the writing tip of a refill dry-proof, without depending upon an elastic material, in a writing utensil with a refill such as a marking pen, a fluorescent pen or a correction pen. <P>SOLUTION: The airtight chuck (11) is constituted of two chuck pieces (12) and (12), each of which is pivotally fitted with a pin (14) inside a barrel. The inner face of the chuck piece (12) is provided with a sliding contact part (17) with which the contact part (18) of the refill (1) frictionally slides into contact and an inward projecting part. When the refill (1) recedes, the contact part (18) frictionally slides into contact with the sliding contact part (17) or runs into the inner projecting part and a tip opening part (10) of the airtight chuck (11) is closed following the rotation of the chuck piece (12). Further, when the refill (1) advances, the chuck piece (12) rotates in the opposite direction, resulting in the opening of the tip opening part (10). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
