PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To be easily used in household and almost completely kill bacteria or microorganisms using ultraviolet rays, and be made small-sized and very easily handled, and has highly safe configuration. SOLUTION: This container for storing drinking water to be sterilized is configured to have an ultraviolet lamp at the center thereof. The drinking water is fed in the container, and then the ultraviolet lamp is turned on. Ultraviolet rays emitted from the ultraviolet lamp are transmitted through the drinking water, thus the bacteria or microorganisms in the drinking water are sterilized with the ultraviolet rays.
