Disclosed are lipid vesicles containing a blend of amphiphiles, including pr opylene glycol stearate, in the lipid bilayers. The vesi cles may have either an aqueous or oil-filled central cavity and are particularly useful for delivering dermatological cosmetic and pharm aceutical formulations.
