The invention relates to a chip card comprising a chip card base (1) in whose at least one cavity (2) at least one component (3) can be inserted, whereby said component (3) is linked with the chip card base (1) to an inseparable unit by applying an overlay (5) to a surface (4) of the chip card base (1). The invention also relates to a method for producing such a chip card, which comprises preparing a chip card base (1) by injection molding or injection/compression molding while forming at least one cavity (2) in the chip card base (1) and introducing the electrical lines or contacts required for contact, implementing the component(s) into the at least one cavity (2) provided for this purpose, and applying an overlay (5) to a chip card surface (4) so that the chip card base (1), the at least one component (3) and the overlay (5) form an inseparable unit. |
