PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a kitchen knife sharpener at low cost, which can sharpen a kitchen knife efficiently without damaging the blade of the kitchen knife with ease by stabilizing its sharpening angle and maintain sharpening ability long. SOLUTION: In the kitchen knife sharpener comprising a sharpening material 3 of any shape and a kitchen sharpener body 1 made of hard material and has space allowing the sharpening material 3 to be inserted thereinto, the sharpener body 1 is provided with a guide face 2 and a protective section 4 extending in the direction to erect from the guide face 2, and the sharpening material 3 is inserted into the space passing under the protective section 4. In using the sharpener, with the blade of the kitchen knife applied to the sharpening material 3 at a proper angle, and the back of the kitchen knife applied to the guide face 2, the kitchen knife is moved in the longitudinal direction. In such motion, the knife can be sharpened quickly and keeping a stable angle constant.
