PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a reinforcement of a fiber- reinforced thermoplastic resin with high anchoring effect and significantly enhanced reinforcing effect and tenacity. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing a reinforcement comprises the steps to split reinforcing fibers and impregnate the fibers with a thermoplastic resin, using a curved surface die, a resin bath and a die with a circular sectional nozzle shape and impart a rotating motion to the reinforcing fiber in its circumferential direction to form a continuously spiral thermoplastic resin protuberance on the surface of the reinforcing fiber in its axis. Thus, the reinforcement of the fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin showing a high anchoring effect can be manufactured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
