<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a specific nucleic acid sequence for simultaneously detecting most popular 7 viruses causing infection to the human respiratory system, i.e., human parainfluenza virus-1, human parainfluenza virus-2, human parainfluenza virus-3, respiratory a syncytial virus of respiratory organs, influenza type A virus, influenza type B virus and adenovirus, and to provide a method for detecting the viruses. <P>SOLUTION: The method for detecting the viruses is to obtain the nucleic acid prepared from a sample suspected to contain the virus to be detected, amplify the nucleic acid with a set of primers specific to one or more of the 7 viruses and detect the amplified product.
