PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rotary drum capable of being inexpensively suppressed in its deformation at the time of high speed rotation by simple constitution. SOLUTION: The rotary drum 10 has a cylindrical plate cylinder 36. The plate cylinder 36 is closed at both opening ends thereof by side lids 38 provided with shafts 34. Further, leading end chucks 24 for winding a printing plate to fix the same are provided on the outer peripheral surface of the plate cylinder 36. Furthermore, a disc-shaped reinforcing member 40 is fixed to the almost central part of the inner peripheral surface in the axial direction of the plate cylinder 36. When the rotary drum 10 is rotated around the shafts 34 at a high speed, load is applied to the plate cylinder 36 so as to deform (expand) the plate cylinder 36 radially by a centrifugal force but the deformation of the plate cylinder 36 is suppressed by the tensile rigidity of the reinforcing member 40. By this constitution, the deformation of the rotary drum 10 at the time of high-speed rotation can be inexpensively suppressed by a simple constitution. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
