METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ENCODING AND DECODING ROTATION INTERPOLATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for encoding and decoding a rotation interpolator indicating the temporal position of a key frame and rotation conversion of an object represented by the key frame. SOLUTION: Included are a segment point extraction part which extracts the smallest number of segment points making below a specified critical value the error between a 1st animation path consisting of the rotation interpolator and a 2nd animation path generated with segment points extracted from the 1st animation path from the 1st animation path and outputs key data and key value data included in the extracted segment points, a key encoder which encodes the key data inputted from the segment point extraction part while reducing the range, and a key value data encoder which generates a rotation difference value for rotating and converting the subject by the difference between rotation conversions applied to the subject with key value data of current and last key frames and encodes the key value data inputted from the segment point extraction part.
