PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic induction heating cooker capable of extremely simply discriminating the load of a vessel. SOLUTION: This electromagnetic induction heating cooker is provided with: a phase difference detection circuit 14 for detecting the phase difference between the output voltage and current of an inverter; a current keeping circuit 12 for raising the output frequency of the inverter when the current exceeds a set value of a current adjuster 13 and thereby keeping the current at a value not more than the set value; and a load discrimination circuit 15 for comparing the phase difference detection value with a phase difference set value of a phase difference adjuster 16 to judge the load of the vessel 4 made of a non- magnetic material or to be unloaded when the detection value is larger than the set value, and to judge the vessel 4 made of a magnetic material when the detection value is not more than the set value.
