PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of transmitting various information items to a device for remotely controlling imaging operations and having high interchangeability. SOLUTION: Upon the receipt of a transmission request of a camera through- image from a remote controller side in a step S504, a DSC (Digital Still Camera) extracts one frame of an imaging image signal in a step S505. Then the DSC discriminates presence of an event such as loss of free capacity of a recording medium or a worn battery in a step S506, the processing continues to a step S507 when the event takes place, and a document or an image corresponding to the occurred event is composed with an image signal extracted in the processing of the step S505. An image signal with a data format for transmission is produced from the composed image signal in a step S508 and the resulting image signal is wirelessly transmitted to the remote controller in a step S509. The remote controller reproduces and displays the received image signal to display notice information attendant on the occurrence of the event by the DSC as part of the camera through-image.
