PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely discriminate a metal body to be detected by correcting a variation error due to a temperature characteristics of the metal body. SOLUTION: A temperature sensor 3 which detects the temperature of the metal body 7 to be detected is provided nearby a magnetic sensor 2. Consequently, material data of the metal body 7 to be detected are corrected into a no- variation state to remove an overlap of an output band, so the metal body 7 to be detected such as a coin can precisely be discriminated. The temperature sensor 3 is preferably so arranged as to detect the temperature of a part of the metal body 7 detected by the magnetic sensor 2.
