PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temporary track for construction of a shield tunnel which may be used for a shield of small sectional area with a design of five segments. SOLUTION: A temporary track 3 for an underground carrying vehicle 4 which is led by a shield machine 1 comprises S-shaped rails 32 which are movable to follow the drive of the shield machine 1, fixed rails 30 which are laid with excavation of a shield tunnel 11, and holding rails 31 which bridge the S-shaped rails 32 and the fixed rails 30. The holding rails 31 are laid in sequence to keep up with the movement of the S-shaped rails 32 so that the changing intervals between the S-shaped rails 32 and the fixed rails 30 may be bridged by the holding rails 31.
