摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device which is excellent in light and heat resistance and in which the liquid crystal and the alignment layer are prevented from being deteriorated by attaining efficient cooling of the device in the liquid crystal device using a substrate with low thermal conductivity such as a glass or quartz substrate or the like and to provide a projection display device and an electronic appliance. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device comprises a liquid crystal layer 11 sandwiched between upper and lower substrates 10, 20 placed opposite to each other and is characterized by having heat dissipation layers 15, 25 in contact with alignment layers 17, 24 or the liquid crystal layer 11 formed on at least one inside surface side of the upper or lower substrates 10, 20.
