The binding (1) for a snowboard boot (7) has a middle flank (10), side flank (11) and upper section (30), all of which are covered by a shaped insert (31). The insert covers the same length as the flank and allows bending. The binding has a base (2) which extends upwards and discs (8) and screws (9) for attaching the binding to the snowboard (7). The binding has straps (20,21) which connect the middle flank and side flank together.
