<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a correction characteristic determination device which makes correction characteristics of a liquid crystal display device suitable to those of a liquid crystal panel. <P>SOLUTION: The correction characteristic determination device equipped with a data converting means which converts measurement data of the light emission state of the liquid crystal panel into brightness data of three primary colors by using a conversion matrix and a correction characteristic determining means which determines correction characteristics according to the conversion result of the converting means is further equipped with a conversion matrix generator 101 which generates the conversion matrix. The conversion matrix generator 101 is equipped with a matrix element generating means which generates matrix elements of the inverse matrix of the conversion matrix according to measurement data obtained when the liquid crystal panel 7 displays the highest gray scales of the primary colors, a matrix element correcting means which corrects the matrix elements according to measurement data obtained when the liquid crystal display panel displays the highest gray scale of white, and an inverse matrix generating means which generates the inverse matrix of a matrix consisting of corrected matrix elements. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
