<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which high yield is realized by simple manufacturing processes and a manufacturing method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is a so called semi-transmission type liquid crystal display device comprising a pixel electrode constituting reflection electrodes 10, 11 reflecting external light and a transmissive electrode 9 transmitting light emitted from a rear light source in one pixel on one substrate of a pair of substrates arranged in an opposed manner and sandwiching a liquid crystal layer. In particular, the reflection electrodes 10, 11 and the transmissive electrode 9 constituting the pixel electrode are provided without interposing an insulating layer.
