<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monopulse radar system capable of detecting the speed of a moving body, the distance between the moving body and an obstacle, and the relative speed and detecting the direction of the obstacle at the same time. <P>SOLUTION: The monopulse radar system is provided with a plurality of antenna switches 4, 5, 6, and 7 which connect/disconnect antenna elements for switching the beam shapes of a transmitting array antenna 1, comprising a plurality of antenna elements 1a to 1j and receiving array antennas 2, 3 comprising respectively a plurality of antenna elements 2a to 2e and 3a to 3e between acute-angle/long-distance and wide-angle/short-distance. It follows that a small- sized, light-weight on-vehicle monopulse radar system can be obtained, capable of switching the detectable range for the distance between the obstacle and the moving body and the relative speed between acute-angle/long-distance and wide-angle/short-distance and, since it uses a monopulse system, and capable of detecting accurate direction of the obstacle within the range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
